DivorceCare

DivorceCare, a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced, will begin a new session at NUMC on Jan. 31 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. The DVD seminars feature some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on divorce and recovery topics seen from a biblical perspective. Contact Kathy Smallwood at 459-1878 for more info.

Pork Chop Sale

The Methodist Men will be having a Pork Chop Plate Sale on Feb. 24th.
Pick-up will be from 11:00 - 2:00. Plates include: 2 Grilled Barbeque Chops, field peas, spiced apples,& hush puppies for $7. See one of the Methodist Men or call the church office for tickets.

Confirmation

Confirmation classes will be held on Wed. nights, beginning Feb. 29th at
6:00 p.m. for 5 weeks. All youth are invited to attend the classes that will prepare them for membership into our church.

Ash Wednesday

During our Ash Wednesday Service, we will reflect on what scripture says about Jesus working in our lives, the redeeming power of the Cross of Christ, and His steadfast love. Join us as we repent of our sins and have our hearts cleansed, so we can live a life worthy of His calling. Join us for fellowship and meal at 5:45 p.m., followed by the Ash Wednesday Service and imposition of ashes at 6:30 p.m.

Butterfly Release

We will have a Butterfly Release at the conclusion of our 10:30 Combined Easter Service on Sunday, April 8th.

We invite everyone to participate in raising and releasing the butterflies. We will order caterpillars, which will include food and instructions, and mesh cages to house your hatched butterfly. Call our office at 459-7178 for more information about ordering your kit.

Kits will be distributed on March 18th and you will be able to watch your larvae transform into a chrysalis and hatch as a beautiful painted lady butterfly.

The release on Easter morning will be uplifting, as we celebrate the life and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Belarussian Ministry

Time has come to be in prayer about your participation in the Belarussian Ministry. The need is still great to provide the children of Belarus and chaperones an opportunity to come to Nashville and receive a reprieve from their everyday radioactive living conditions, access to medical/dental/vision evaluations and necessary treatment. These children also receive a renewed hope for the future and most importantly, exposure to Jesus Christ and His love through our generosity.

If you feel led or would like more information on hosting a child/chaperone in your home for six weeks, beginning approximately the second week of June, please see Kevin and Denise Calloway or Robin Miller. Deadlines for host family applications will be February 20th. Please continue to support this outreach as a host family, a day host friend, through financial gifts marked Belarussian Ministry and most importantly prayer.

Camp-4-Kids Golf Tournament

Come out for a fun day of Golf, Food and Fellowship on April 27th. This year’s tournament will be at Birchwood country Club and will have lots of fun activities. Cash prizes will be awarded. Monies raised in this tournament will help send the kids of NUMC to camp this summer. Brochures are on the counters in the gathering area, see any Camp 4 Kids member or call the church office for more information.
