Do not rebuke an
older man but encourage him
as you would a father, younger men as brothers
1 Timothy 5:1
Nashville UMC's nursing home ministry was formed in the 1960’s by Lester and Henrietta Jackson. It began as a Sunday School time of ministry at various nursing homes. In 1985, Nashville UMC joined with Nashville Baptist church in providing a weekday fellowship and devotion.
Today, we have 13 volunteers from our church who visit Nash Grove Manor at 10:15am on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. The volunteers have a schedule and rotate, with about 8 members providing music, devotion and Bingo. We provide prizes, such as fruit, toiletries, and a popular prize of 55 cents, which the residents use to purchase soft drinks.
It is a wonderful time of fellowship and ministry for the church volunteers and Nash Grove residents. If you are interested in joining this ministry, contact the church office at the contact information listed below.
